Forum Spam ?

As you might or might not know I’ve designed a support portal for Jeffrey-Morgan.com. You can pick-up the link here. I haven’t had much time to dedicate to the management of the forums as yet, as I have been busy placing all of the components necessary to carry on for another couple of years.

Once the first of the year came around and the site here and the companion sites had been launch, I made busy with the marketing efforts. I’ll have to admit I was a bit surprised at the response. However, I was left with the task of now bringing the forums Online.

As I was setting the system of support forums in place back at the end of last year, I was a little miffed at the challenge of running a forums board. I’m really not up for being buried with all the tech challenges at a time when I can least afford it, so I went through the process of setting up some “dummy” forums complete with all the bells and whistles to speed easy management.

As I made my way over to the store to open-up, I couldn’t even remember my user name. So after a bazillion tries ……. I was in. I opened up the Admin panel and all of the kings horses and all of the kings men came rushing out!

I was delighted to find hundreds of new members that had contributed to my well-thought-out selection of topics. And man did they contribute! While I was away trying to provide a solid technical solution to your WordPress and Linux problems, my “new members” had filled my forums with thousands of the most vulgar “forum spam” postings that a depraved mind can imagine.

Maybe I should be pitching my goods and services to the vulgar Blogging market, as this seems to be where all the money is judging by all the imput on my forums.

Of all the challenges that Blogging and Internet Marketing pose, it would appear that most of us do not drop-out by choice, rather most will undoubtably drown in all the crap …….. spam!
