Google Drive

It would appear by all the signs and buzz, that “Google Drive” is ready to go. With a trailing ad under the search engine box and an “Offical Blog Introduction” three weeks ago, it looks like Google has all it ducks-in-a-row with its latest gizmo.

Google stuff is sooo…… cool!!! With just Internet access, I do believe that you can now accomplish just about anything Online that you can do from your Desktop. Let’s call it the world sandbox according to Google.

If you love surfing with the aliens, you’ll love the cloud forming over at Google. Its also said that Facebook isn’t losing any ground here either. Facebook however, is social interaction; important yes, but Google is a toolbox, save for “Google+”.

The problem with all the puffy clouds is that there is a storm brewing here; has been for some time. Richard Stallman warned of it several years ago. Essentially you are placing you life’s work into someone elses’ hands. And as most of us know by now, Google, let alone Facebook, are not the most hardened advocate’s of our personal information.

This is a subject with no end. As I sit back and contemplate all of the issues, it really deserves a book, not a Blog post. I could go into great detail on not only the issues but the consequences of “Cloud Computing” by allowing the entire world access to your most personal of information.

Getting sapped by an alien is no fun, so in the immortal words of NIKE …… Just Don’t Do It!
