Investing In The Adobe Creative Cloud

Investing In The Adobe Creative Cloud

As you probably know by now, Abobe has made the move to make all of the creative software such as Photoshop available to all for a monthly fee. You can invest in the whole shooting match for about $50.00 a month. Well, it beats coming up with the $2600.00 for the purchase but do you really need what Adobe has to offer?

I could go into all the details about all the different products, however, I would imagine that the Adobe Website would do a better job of giving you the run-down. I’m really interested in whether or not Adobe is worth the money.

Asking whether or not Adobe is worth the money is like asking if a Corvette is worth the money. If you want to go fast and you have the money, Adobe has your ride. However, as with most things in life, relativity plays a part. Do you really need to go that fast.

If you are starting out with building your own Website or you are interested in building a business building Websites, you really do not need Adobe. If you have tons of money …… you really do not need Adobe. To acclimate youself to graphic design, the best place to start would be with GIMP.

If you can’t hack it with GIMP, you aren’t going to be able to work with Adobe. Now the difference here is that GIMP is open source, meaning FREE; Adobe …… big bucks! Both have a pretty good learning curve to them. So it might make better sense to start with GIMP and learn the ropes as both use similar techniques. The only real difference is if you are at the bleeding edge of graphic design for your website or you are doing website graphic design for hire you will want Adobe to work with.

I’ve been at this for quite a while now and I have done just fine with GIMP, but my work lacks a serious intensity to it. However, whenever I get into Adobe, I feel like I’m drowning. I Google and watch Adobe videos and I’m left with …… “You can’t be serious!”. It looks great, better yet …… very cool, but I don’t want to work at a header for three days to achieve the effect. Man, that’s some intense software.

In the final analysis, if you are interested in art and graphic design, go with “Adobe”. If you are interested in general Website Design, go with “GIMP”. If you have any thought of giving Adobe a test-drive …… let it go!!!
