PC’s Are Crushing Tablet Sales

PC’s Are Crushing Tablet Sales

Seldom do I venture away from the focus of this Blog, which is Web Design, Blogs and Internet Marketing. However, there are occasions where I just can’t help myself.

When I go in search of ideas for this Blog, I can’t help but continue to trip over the information overload about “TABLETS”. It seems to be the catch-all buzzword these days for those tech writers who have long run out of ideas due to the shear volume of work they are obligated to produce. Need a tech piece …… write about “TABLETS”.

Kindles are cool. The all-new Paperweight Paperwhite is touted as the world’s most advanced E-Reader. You can pick one up for about a hundred bucks. However, the top end is around $500.00 …… you can pick-up a smokin’ hot PC for $300.00 …… with monitor!

The undisputed king of tablets goes to …… you get one guess and one guess only! ( ??????)

The iPad starts at $500.00, with the top end there being about $850.00 with tax and all. I don’t own one, but I bet by the time you clear the store door you are weighing in at over a thou. You throw-in a mac-book pro with an iPhone and you’re all set for the road …… if you have enough change left to catch the bus!

OK, I’ll agree, everyone wants one! However, we can’t have it all at one time!

The consensus in the tech industry is that everyone is going mobile with tablets and that we all go group share when we get to the office. How stupid!!!

And these are intelligent people that we all share the road with who are writing this stuff. Oh yeah, like I want my secretary using my computer, ( no matter where his or her desktop apps may be ) while the damn thing is running windows.

The only reason that PC sales are down, is that we already have one of the sorry things running windows, and anyway, we can’t afford to upgrade and buy a tablet at the same time.

We all know that “TABLETS” are cool, but they will never replace the desktop PC. And once someone kills off Windows, you will see a resurgence in PC Sales. Windows 8 …… Please!!!

No wonder PC sales are down!
