The Joke That Is Google Search And SEO

The Joke That Is Google Search And SEO

I have been working on a special project of late that has required me to put on the ole thinking cap and turn the screws on my SEO skills. I’ve never really worried much about SEO, as I follow the golden rule of writing for my readers and not for any search engine.

I’ve been at this game for a number of years now, let’s call it 4 years as of March 20, 2013, and while I’ll admit to being a slow coach, I believe that I have caught on to the fact that Google Search is a joke …… period!

I’m not going to get into the mechanics of my project as I’m afraid it would prove boring. However, I am clear and can report in with the fact of results that Google ain’t all that it’s cracked-up to be.

I really hate to kick tires here, but results for whatever it is that you are searching for, just are not there many of the times that you need them to be. What’s worse after a couple of dozen results, relevance takes a backseat to the absurd. Looking for “Predators Of The African Serengeti” and you get a run down on all of “Arnold Schwarzenegger’s” films.

I understand that if you knock-around long enough you can usually find what you need, just by juggling keywords. However, if I plug-in “Linux” which is a computer term that anyone in tech should recognize; especially anyone who is programming at Google; I’m just a little miffed that “Lennox HVAC Systems / Air Conditioning / Heating” comes up in the third position of the results page. Hey, I say take another one sex-trillionth of a second longer compiling results and get it right.

The issue here is that for the $38,000,000,000.00 Bazillion Dollars a year they take-in for Google Adwords, they should at least get the results right on page one.

Trying to “White Hat” the system is a complete nightmare and has never worked for me, and I dare say, most that try. No wonder everyone is trying to “Black Hat” the system! They are trying to get the Google thing to do something of some sort by any means possible and when they succeed at this roll of the dice method, Google moves-in to close the loop-hole against those that won’t play by their rules, which invariably knocks-out everyone else along the way.

No wonder most of us struggle to earn an income Online!   :(
